Dan Rodriguez

Bass Guitar/Vocals

Dan is excited to be part of the Douglas Drive acoustic act - his first musical act in over 30 years!  He comes with many years of experience starting back when he was 16 yrs old, when he was in his very first band, The Saints, where he sang full-time.  When the bass player quit 2 yrs later, he became the new bass player, as well as, continued as the lead singer.

After 3 years with The Saints, Dan auditioned in the 60's with a local northwest Indiana band called, Free Verse.  After playing with Free Verse for 2 years, he was drafted and served in the military for 3 years.  After the military, he returned to Free Verse until an untimely situation regarding the drummer broke the band up.  During this time, he started playing the Holiday Inn circuit with, Linda Stacy & Flight.  Some time later, Free Verse got back together again in 1980, and started playing the Holiday Inn circuit on the road for 4 more years.  Because he wanted to  help raise his children and spend more time at home, Dan ended his time with the band in the late 80's.

When Dan's not working full-time as an Electronic Technician, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children.  He also enjoys traveling to new places with family and friends, an occasional game or movie night, and of course, playing his bass, which is the ultimate stress-reducer.

Mike Carbonara

Guitar/Keyboards/Vocals

Mike comes to, Douglas Drive, with 40 plus years of experience.   Starting at age 14, in the late 70’s, he formed his first band, Legend, playing guitar and vocals.  In the early 80’s, he is most known for his south side Chicago band, Lane Changers, were he started playing the keys for the first time, along with guitar and vocals. Later in the 90’s, he regrouped with past band members from Legend and Lane Changers, to form his new band, Undaunted.

In the early 2000’s, Mike took a break to help raise his 4 sons as well as moving his family of 6 from Oswego, IL to Orland Park.  After settling in, Mike decided this was a good time to dust off his guitar and keys and started to fill in as a keyboardist for various local bands in the Chicagoland area.   During that time, and after he played a variety of music, he figured out which genre of music best suit his interest.

Mike then decided to move over the border to Indiana in 2019, with his wife, and 3 of his 4 sons.  After playing with and meeting a variety of musicians in the Lake County, IN area, he decided to start his very first acoustic project.  He feels both lucky and honored to start this new project with his longtime friend, Dan and fellow bandmate, Maddy of Hail Mary - his other music project.

When Mike isn't busy with his 2 jobs, 2 music projects, 4 boys, 2 grandchildren in NY, working out at the YMCA (to keep up with all that), he loves spending time in Disney with his wife as much as possible and family when they can, also enjoys traveling with friends, going to see, and supporting all local bands and musicians!
